We celebrated the launch of The press.on Print Club by organising a small print exchange between our UK-based and SA-based members.
Our aim was to allow the group to introduce themselves to each other via their own preferred techniques and subject matter. The only limitations set were the paper size and the edition size (10).
Before leaving South Africa for the UK, Johann had gathered together a small group of artist/printmakers who met regularly at his studio to print and exchange ideas. This group was called 'Drugbesig', an Afrikaans term roughly translated as 'Print ready'.
For our first press.on Print Exchange we called on the original members of 'Drukbesig' to participate, alongside the UK-based members.
