Marelise van Wyk initially studied Psychology and worked as a
psychologist for a few years before deciding to study art. After teaching high school Visual Art and Design
for several years, she retired from full time art teaching in 2016 to pursue
her art career.
Her preferred art mediums are printmaking and mixed media. She is inspired by textures in nature and her
familiar surroundings, history and our journey through life.
